The Lotus Tower Colombo ( Nelum Kuluna ) is the tallest tower in South Asia, carefully constructed in the vicinity of Colombo. This is a symbolic landmark for Colombo. Let’s see more details about the Lotus Tower.

Where is the Lotus Tower in Sri Lanka?

The Lotus Tower is a significant and meaningful structure in Colombo, Sri Lanka, situated right by the Beira Lake, not far from Pettah. Nowadays, it is considered a landmark in the heart of Colombo. The history of the Lotus Tower dates back to January 2012, and after a lot of hard work, it was finally completed in 2019. Now, it is open for everyone to visit and enjoy since September 16, 2022. It stands as a symbol of pride for the city, offering a unique and beautiful view for those who come to see it.
How to visit Lotus Tower
If you’re using a car, bike, or your own vehicle, you can park it when you arrive. If you’re using the bus or train, the simplest way is to get off at Pettah and then either walk or get a ride using Uber, PickMe, or a Tuk Tuk.

To get inside the Lotus Tower, you need to buy a ticket. This ticket also lets you go up to the observation deck to see a nice view.

Do you know that the Lotus Tower is the tallest completed tower in South Asia and the 11th tallest completed tower in Asia? It is also the 19th tallest completed tower in the world.
Tickets will be issued on both weekdays and weekends during the following hours: Weekdays from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, and Weekends from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

There are 4 entrances to the tower.  Two of them are just for special guests and heads of state. The other two are for public access. When you come in, there’s a security check to keep things safe.

Once you’re inside, the staff will show you where to go. They will guide you in the right direction.

Tip: Do not take the wrong direction; that will end up in the restriction areas for public access!

Lotus Tower Opening Hours
Opening hours of Colombo Lotus Tower/Nelum Kuluna will be 9.00 AM to 10.00 PM on weekdays and 9.00 AM to 11.00 PM on weekends. On Weekends On the 29th floor, there’s a special place called the observation deck. If there aren’t many clouds, you might even see Adams Peak from there.

Tip: If you’re using your mobile phone on the observation deck, be careful because there can be strong winds.

 Also, there’s a cool area where you can try out AR and VR experiences, thanks to Mobitel.
